About Saayaraha

So what is Saayaraha all about? What’s the point and purpose? Why does it exist? Who’s behind it? These are questions we get asked every day, so here are the answers for anyone that is interested to learn more.

The History and the Backstory

It all started back in 2022 when 4 friends started to discuss Tanzania in all its glory and trying to understand why other countries in Africa were more popular for tourists – despite being considerably less safer and with less to offer to a tourist.

Saayaraha - history and backstory

Tanzania has beaches to rival Seychelles. It has safari’s that rival Kenya. It has some amazing, world class hotels and resorts. It has bars, restaurants and clubs that compete with the best that Africa has to offer. Then of course there is the music. Some of the most exciting beats taken to the world with energetic DJs and vibrant live performers.

As for safety – we don’t have the street crime, robberies, scams and kidnappings that happen in most of our neighbouring countries. In fact, Tanzania is the complete opposite. It’s safer than most western countries!

So why isn’t Tanzania right up there are one of the leading tourist destinations?

Simply because no one really knows enough about it to want to come here and visit.

We aren’t the best at marketing and brand building for our country. We aren’t good at bragging and boasting about our country (we’re typically quite humble as a nation) and we dont have the platforms or the medium to take the story of Tanzania to the world.

Beaches in Tanzania

So that’s what we decided that we would do.

Saayaraha – The Mission

The mission is really simple. We want to share Tanzania with the world, in the way that we know best. By sharing stories, reviews, news and feature articles about the hospitality sector in Tanzania, with the world.

Tanzania - Safaris

We do that through this website right here, Saayaraha.com, and through our presence on social media.
